MSNBC's Thomas Roberts will replace Way Too Early host Brian Shactman, whose exit from the news net was announced on Friday. "Thomas' unique personality and point of view are just the right mix to lead in to Morning Joe," said MSNBC president Phil Griffin. Roberts, currently host of MSNBC Live at 11a, assumes his new, 5:30a post starting Monday, January 13. Shactman, who stepped in for Willie Geist when Geist joined Today in November 2012, said of his departure, "I don't want politics to be my only focus."
